Overview
Error Codes 1001, 1002, 1003, and 1004 indicate that an internal server error occurred within the Softdrive platform. These errors point to a general issue affecting the Softdrive web services or one of our underlying third-party infrastructure providers.
These errors are not typically caused by client-side configuration, firewall rules, or network filtering, and are treated as high-priority incidents by the Softdrive engineering team.
When this error occurs, the client may fail to connect to the selected computer and display a generic “An internal error occurred” message.
Common Causes
Error Codes 1001–1004 are usually triggered by one or more of the following:
Temporary outage or degradation of Softdrive backend services
Internal web service failure
Issues with third-party infrastructure providers
Ongoing maintenance or unexpected platform instability
These errors are platform-side issues, not end-user configuration problems.
Troubleshooting
Thigs to do when this happens:
Retry the connection after a few minutes
Many internal errors are transient and resolve automatically.Check Softdrive service status
If available, verify whether there is an ongoing service incident or maintenance window.Avoid repeated rapid retries
Excessive retries may not resolve the issue while the backend is recovering.
If the error persists for more than a few minutes, or continues to occur repeatedly, please contact Softdrive Support.
When opening a support ticket, include as much detail as possible:
Exact error code shown (1001, 1002, 1003, or 1004)
Timestamp of when the error occurred
Computer name and organization
Screenshot of the error message
Steps taken just before the issue occurred

Providing complete information helps the engineering team quickly identify and resolve the issue.
